Roca Group - Delhi Gallery
Designed as Roca Group’s first flagship cultural space that becomes part of the Group’s international network of design-led galleries across Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, London, Shanghai, Beijing and São Paulo, the Roca Delhi Gallery is conceived as a hub for architecture, design and innovation. Set within the dense and energetic urban fabric of New Delhi, the project creates a calm yet distinctive environment where Laufen and Roca’s products are presented not only as functional objects, but as expressions of innovation, precision, and beauty.
The design takes inspiration from the kaleidoscope, a symbol of diversity, movement, and shifting perception. This idea becomes the foundation of the spatial experience, translating India’s richness of color, craft, and cultural layering into an immersive architectural narrative. Rather than using color as decoration, the project positions it as a central design element, revealed through light, material, transparency, and movement.
A restrained architectural envelope defines the gallery, allowing the products and installations to emerge with clarity. Clean lines, a minimal material palette, and carefully choreographed lighting create a serene backdrop against which the vibrant interior moments unfold. Bespoke acrylic rod partitions act as translucent, crystalline surfaces, filtering light and color throughout the space. As visitors move through the gallery, the perception of the interior constantly changes, echoing the dynamic patterns of a kaleidoscope.
The Gallery presents Roca’s most advanced bathroom solutions through a curated sequence of environments. The displays highlight the brand’s emphasis on design, technology and innovation, inviting visitors to explore new approaches to contemporary living. The space maintains the balance between openness and precision, integrating natural light and crafted touches. Hand-made tiles produced by Indian artisans further enrich the space, introducing a local dimension that reinforces the relationship between global design culture and regional craft traditions. These crafted elements contrast with the precision of the product displays and contemporary installations, creating a balance between technology, tradition, and emotion.
A Veil of Light and Colour
The facade is imagined as a minimal yet expressive transparent surface, acting as a subtle threshold between the city and the gallery within. During the day it reflects the city, during the night this transparent skin unveils glimpses of the kaleidoscopic colors inside, allowing the gallery’s vibrant interior to softly animate the building from the street. The facade does not compete with the busy surroundings of New Delhi; instead, it stands apart through restraint, clarity, and simplicity.
This minimal approach gives the building a quiet presence. In a visually dense urban context, the facade becomes a calm and elegant gesture, an invitation rather than a statement. Through its transparency, the building reveals just enough of the interior experience to create curiosity, while maintaining a sense of refinement and composure. The gallery becomes a sanctuary within the city: a place where design knowledge, craft, innovation, and conversation can be shared.
A Journey Through Reflection
Inside, the gallery unfolds as a curated journey through textures, finishes, light, and product stories. The darker, restrained palette creates a dramatic canvas that highlights the form and detailing of each product. Laufen and Roca’s collections are displayed as sculptural icons, each one given space, focus, and presence.
Where Design Becomes Dialogue
The project culminates in a dedicated event space, conceived as a platform for dialogue between architects, designers, clients, and industry stakeholders. More than a product display, the Roca Delhi Gallery becomes a destination for knowledge sharing and creative exchange, a landmark space where global design excellence meets the evolving spirit of the Indian market.
